Case Study - Beijing Ritz-Carlton

CHALLENGE

Located in Beijing’s most thriving business area – China Central Place, the Ritz-Carlton, Beijing shares the past in ways that blend seamlessly with the present. The hotel was designed by HBA design consultants. Two exquisite award-winning restaurants including Aroma serving world cuisine throughout the day and the Lounge serving afternoon tea and western food. Other exclusive facilities include Spa, fitness center, indoor pool with balcony.

A new cigar lounge will be opened to provide customers an elegant and relaxed space for the enjoyment of finely curated cigars during their stay in Ritz-Carlton. In order to remove the cigar smell and to aviod the indoor air pollution as well as distrurbance to non-smoking customers , the hotel adopted Mointair’s indoor air quality soiutions by installing bipolar ionizer.

SOLUTION & RESULT

3 x IA 1600 IonBar will be installed at the air duct of 500 square meter new cigar loungh bar in Ritz Carlton, Beijing.

Monitair’s biploar ionizer can release positive and negative ions and free radicals to oxidise organic compounds to intermediate byproducts and eventually to terminal products of carbon dioxide and water. Processes involving reactions with air ions include: (i) recombination with other air ions, and (ii) reaction with gaseous molecules. These two processes may be involved in the removal of volatile organic compounds.

Some common odourous compounds that can be removed by biploar ionizer are: Ammonia, Hydrogen Sulfide, Methanethiol etc.  The smell and smoke from cigar can be greately reduced.

After installation, optimal ion level was achieved. High ion levels are proven to deactivate viruses, bacteria, and mould. Monitair’s bipolar ionization technology has been proven by independent laboratory tests, can effectively remove 99% Influenza H1N1, H5N1, Escherichia Coli and 99.9% Coronavirus .
