Case Study - Railway Complex in Haifa

CHALLENGE

The COVID-19 pandemic has significant challenges for public transportation operations, especially after HKSAR government relaxes social distances measure and border reopening with Mainland China in January 2023. It is important to understand which extent the pandemic affects transportation and what measures are the most effective for mitigating the risks of virus transmission in public transportation. For example, social distancing, ventilation, & air quality affect the overall transmission risk. Monitair’s bipolar ionization products have been tested in public transportations, can help to protect the health of passengers. 

SOLUTION & RESULT

A railway complex in Haifa – carried out an experiment on a double-decker train, with 26m length, with 2 x IA 1600
installed in one air conditioner on one side of the train (near Location A). The ion concentration was tested at several points on the train. 

At the location (A), area deployed IA 1600, having optimal 15,000 ion/cm3 which is 10 times more than the other side (without deployment of IA 1600.  High ion levels are proven to deactivate viruses*, bacteria, and mould.

*Proven in Independent Clinical Trials to remove 99% of SARS-COV-2, HINI, H5N1 etc.
